The Clarity Day

One day.One clear plan.An answer for your CFO.

Most organisations have wellbeing things. An EAP nobody uses. A meditation app licence that renews itself. A resilience webinar from January that nobody can tell you actually worked.

What they rarely have is a strategy. This fixes that.

The problem

Your wellbeing budget is impossible to justify.

You have spent money. You have run initiatives. People said they found them valuable. And then the CFO asked what the wellbeing budget is achieving, and the honest answer was somewhere between "we think it's helping" and a very confident-sounding silence.

This is not your fault. The wellbeing industry has built an entire ecosystem around the wrong things: attendance figures, feedback scores from people who filled in the form to be polite, and the number of initiatives run, as if volume were the same as value.

What is missing is a thread from activity to outcome. A diagnosis. A set of connected interventions with a clear logic behind each one. And a way of measuring whether any of it is working.

That is what a Clarity Day builds.

9.4

Average days lost to sickness per UK employee per year.

Mental ill health is the leading cause of long-term absence.

£51bn

Annual cost of poor mental health to UK employers.

Much of it is presenteeism, which most absence reports never show.

£4.70

Average return for every £1 invested in employee mental health.

How it works

One day. Four parts. Everything done by 5pm.

The Clarity Day is a fixed-price, fully remote strategy session. You bring the context. I bring the framework. By 5pm you have a plan you can use.

Part 1

9 to 11am

Diagnosis

Most wellbeing problems come from six places: workload and pace, lack of control, line management, relationships and safety, role clarity and change, and recovery. Before the day, you score each of them in the pre-work questionnaire, and I start the analysis using your absence, turnover, EAP and survey data. In the first two hours, I map your organisation against all six with you, and you and I agree the three that are doing the most damage.

Part 2

11am to 1pm

Strategy build

Each of your three priority causes gets a fix, a support and a measure. The fix changes how work is organised or managed, such as how meetings run, how priorities are set, or how managers talk to their teams. The support is usually a wellbeing snack or platform tool that builds the weekly habit. Every intervention has a clear reason to exist, not just a good-looking title.

Part 3

1 to 3pm

Measurement framework

I build the framework your CFO needs to see: three measures, one for each priority cause, tracked monthly through the pulse survey alongside your absence and turnover figures. You leave knowing how to answer the question you have been dreading.

Part 4

3 to 5pm

Handover

The final two hours are for your deliverables. The board deck, the roadmap, the measurement framework and the snack schedule are completed and sent by 5pm, with a recorded video walkthrough so you can share the plan with people who were not on the call.

Your deliverables

Five deliverables in your inbox by 5pm, plus 60 days' platform access.

No "I'll send that over in the next couple of weeks". Everything is built during the session and sent by 5pm.

90-day roadmap

A phased, week-by-week plan in three stages. What to do first, what comes next, and what success looks like at each stage. Built for your organisation, not a template with your name on it.

Board-ready five-slide deck

A presentation you can put in front of your leadership team or board without spending three weekends redesigning it. It includes your absence cost calculation, your cause map and three priority causes, the proposed interventions and the measurement framework.

Measurement framework

Three measures, one for each priority cause. Tracked monthly. A single-page report that tells you whether the strategy is working. Designed so you can answer the CFO's question with a number, not a feeling.

12-week wellbeing snack schedule

Manager-led scripts for two to three minute practices built into existing team meetings. Breathwork, grounding, desk-based movement. No new calendar invites. No extra budget. Just managers who know what to do and when.

Video walkthrough

A recorded walkthrough of the strategy and the plan, so you can share it with your MD, CEO or CFO without explaining everything from scratch.

included

60 days' platform access

Every Clarity Day includes 60 days of the Wellbeing Solved platform, starting the day after your session: the HR dashboard, the monthly pulse survey and the monthly report. No obligation to continue.

After the day

What happens after the day?

A clear strategy is only useful if it gets used. That sounds obvious, but it is the part most consultants leave to chance.

Thirty days after your Clarity Day, I hold a one-hour call with you. Not a check-in for the sake of it. A proper conversation about what has happened since, what has landed well with your managers or your leadership team, and where you have hit resistance.

I look at your early pulse data with you, talk through any changes to the roadmap, and make sure you go into month two with momentum rather than doubt.

This call is included in the Clarity Day. There is nothing else to book or buy.

Want to start with the data?

Some organisations prefer to understand where their people are before deciding what to do about it. The Well Enough Check for organisations measures that. Your people complete an anonymous check across seven dimensions of everyday wellbeing, and I give you an aggregated report and a findings call, from £495.

When you are ready to turn the findings into a plan, you get up to £350 off your Clarity Day, booked within 90 days of receiving your report. You arrive with real data, so the day starts further along.

For ongoing support

Experienced wellbeing leadership, without the full-time cost.

Wellbeing Solved also offers a Fractional Chief Wellbeing Officer service for organisations that want ongoing support on a retainer. The scope depends on your organisation and on availability, so it is always agreed individually.

Ask about ongoing support

Is this for you?

Right for some HR directors. Not for all of them.

I would rather be honest about this than waste your time or mine. Here is who gets the most from a Clarity Day.

This is probably for you if

  • You are an HR director or people lead at an organisation of 50 to 500 employees
  • Your teams are mostly desk-based, whether in the office, hybrid or remote
  • You have wellbeing activity in place but no strategy connecting it to outcomes
  • You cannot yet answer the question "what is this achieving?" with a number
  • You have a leadership review, board presentation or budget renewal coming up
  • You want a plan, not a year-long retainer or a vague set of recommendations.

This is probably not for you if

  • You are looking for a wellbeing speaker or trainer rather than a strategist. I can do that too, but it is a separate conversation.
  • You need a large-scale culture change programme spanning several years
  • You do not have basic data to work with, such as absence rates, staff turnover and a general sense of where things stand
  • You are outside the UK or EU, or your working language is not English
  • You want someone to approve a strategy you have already decided on, rather than build an honest one.
  • You have fewer than 50 people. The Well Enough Check for organisations is designed for your size.

Worked example

Illustrative example. Not a real client.

What a Clarity Day looks like in practice.

A 210-person professional services firm.

Offices in three UK cities. Hybrid working. The Head of People had a leadership review in eight weeks and no clear answer to the CFO's question about what the wellbeing budget was achieving.

The cause map put line management first, with recovery and role clarity close behind. Wellbeing provision lived in a drawer nobody opened, and with no measurement framework, there was no visibility at all.

Each priority cause got a fix, a support and a measure: a manager wellbeing reset across three group sessions, wellbeing snacks built into every team's meetings, clearer priority-setting between leaders and managers, and a monthly dashboard sent to the MD and CFO on the 1st of each month.

6.8

Days absent per employee per year, below the CIPD average.

£830k

Estimated annual absence cost once the productivity multiplier is applied.

4.2%

EAP utilisation: the support existed, but almost nobody used it.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions.

What do I need to prepare before the day?

You will complete a pre-work questionnaire, which takes about 25 minutes. It asks you to score six common causes of poor wellbeing, and covers your current provision, absence data, turnover figures and any survey results you have. If you like, you can also send a two-minute anonymous survey to staff beforehand, so the diagnosis includes their view, not just HR's. I review everything in advance, so the session time goes on decisions rather than data gathering.

Who should attend?

At minimum, the HR director or people lead. The session works with one person and is equally effective with two or three.

Is it delivered in person or remotely?

The Clarity Day is delivered remotely by video call, and everything is designed to work as well online as in a room together. If you would prefer an in-person session, that can be arranged; travel costs from Berlin would then be added.

When do I receive the deliverables?

Everything is delivered by 5pm on the day of the session. The board deck, the roadmap, the measurement framework, the snack schedule and the video walkthrough are all built during the day.

What if my organisation does not have much data?

Some data is needed to make the diagnosis meaningful. If you have absence figures and a sense of where the problems are, I can work with that. If you have nothing at all, the session is likely to be less useful, and I would rather tell you that upfront.

What happens if I need to cancel?

You get a full refund if you cancel more than 48 hours before the session, and a 50% refund within 48 hours. Rescheduling is free with at least 24 hours' notice.

Is there support after the day?

The Clarity Day is a fixed-price engagement with no retainer. It includes a one-hour follow-up call 30 days later. For more support after that, there is Embed (90 days of hands-on implementation support) or the Fractional Chief Wellbeing Officer service.

Can I use more than one credit?

Yes. Each step earns a credit towards the next one: £250 or £350 from a Well Enough Check package to a Clarity Day (depending on package size), and £350 from a Clarity Day to Embed. Each credit has its own booking window.
